Galaxy S26 Sells Briskly, Samsung to Increase Production by Millions of Units This Month
Sales of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series are reportedly brisk in the global market. Due to the strong sales, the South Korean company plans to increase production in April 2026.
News of the increased production target for the Galaxy S26 Series was revealed in a report from South Korean media outlet ZDNet Korea, citing several industry sources.
According to the report, Samsung is targeting production of 3 million units of the Galaxy S26 Series for this month. This figure is reportedly an increase of around 600,000 units compared to the previous plan of about 2.4 million units.
Of the 3 million units, the largest portion is reportedly for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, at around 1.5 million units. Meanwhile, the standard model is said to be produced at 1.3 million units, and the Plus variant at only 200,000 units.
This production increase has been prepared since March. At that time, Samsung was reportedly increasing early orders for components to anticipate high demand.
These components will then be used to meet the higher production target for the Galaxy S26 Series in April, namely the aforementioned 3 million units.
Based on the report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is the best-selling model from Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series, as it has the largest increase in production volume.
According to several reports, the strong sales of this model are influenced by several factors. One of them is the anti-peeking feature, or Privacy Display, which is considered successful in attracting consumer interest to purchase.
In addition, Samsung is also considered successful in keeping device prices down to avoid being too expensive and remaining competitive amid the global rise in semiconductor prices.
Amid the surge in Galaxy S26 production, Samsung’s mid-range phone production is reportedly experiencing a decline.
Production of the Samsung Galaxy A57 has been cut to 1.6 million units from the previous 1.8 million units. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A17 has dropped from 4.4 million units to 3.9 million units.
This decline is said to be related to the weakening mid-range phone market due to rising component prices, which may also trigger price increases for devices in the market.
