Galax GPU Brand Relinquishes Global Operations, Now Taken Over by Palit
The business of the Hong Kong-based GPU manufacturer and designer, Galax, has undergone a significant change. The brand, which has existed in the graphics card industry for 30 years, is now fully under the control of the Taiwanese GPU vendor, Palit Microsystems. This business transfer has been effective since 1 April 2026. Palit has taken over Galax’s business, including after-sales services and product returns under the Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) for GPUs under that brand. Palit has actually been overseeing Galax since 2007 for several products released under the Galax brand. However, now all global management of Galax for various product lines such as KFA2 to the flagship Hall of Fame (HOF) line is directly controlled by Palit. This means that the Galax name will only serve as a GPU brand. Behind the scenes, all business and management affairs will be directly managed and controlled by Palit. This is said to have been triggered by supply limitations of GPUs, driven by high demand for artificial intelligence (AI) needs. The surge in AI demand has indeed made the global GPU chip supply tight in recent times. However, in their latest official statement, Palit and Galax emphasise that the Galax brand is not being closed. On the contrary, the changes are part of an internal restructuring to unify management and improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, this step is aimed at strengthening global presence, optimising the supply chain, and accelerating innovation in next-generation GPU products. Palit also confirms that Galax’s product roadmap remains on track as usual, including hardware development for gamers and creators. Existing Galax graphics card users can still receive support, but they must contact Palit’s official channels. In terms of business, Palit emphasises that both they and Galax will remain official Nvidia partners for GPUs, ensuring product support remains guaranteed.
