Gaikindo Optimistic About Positive Trend Continuing at GIIAS 2026
Gaikindo Daily Chairman and Exhibition Organiser Anton Kumonty expressed optimism that the positive trend of the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 will continue until the final day of the exhibition on Sunday (9/8).
“Seeing the visitor enthusiasm up to this Saturday afternoon, Gaikindo is confident that this year’s visitor count will surpass last year’s. This is clear evidence that public enthusiasm for the development of the automotive world continues to increase year on year,” said Anton during the “Exhibitor Night GIIAS 2026” event at ICE BSD, Tangerang, on Saturday (8/8) evening.
Ahead of the final day of GIIAS 2026 at ICE BSD, which runs until Sunday (9/8), Anton stated that Gaikindo remains committed to ensuring the safety, comfort, and best experience for all visitors throughout the exhibition area.
GIIAS 2026 features more than 65 global automotive brands, comprising 43 passenger vehicle brands, 7 commercial vehicle brands, 5 coachbuilders, and 13 motorcycle brands, supported by over 150 supporting industry brands.
“The exhibition is clear proof of the strong commitment and synergy in advancing the national automotive industry,” said Anton.
GIIAS 2026 also reaffirmed its role as the main stage for automotive development with the launch of a total of 37 new vehicles, ranging from Indonesian Premieres to Asian Premieres, as well as the introduction of various future concept vehicles during the exhibition.
Previously, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, while attending GIIAS 2026 in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday (4/8), stated that car sales grew 32.9 per cent year-on-year (yoy) in June 2026, while motorcycle sales grew 1.1 per cent (yoy).
