The Indonesian automotive industry is ready to implement the use of B50 biodiesel fuel blend, according to the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo). This readiness is supported by the sector’s development, which is accompanied by the strengthening of the national manufacturing ecosystem. “The automotive industry is ready to implement B50, and road tests for B50 have run smoothly and shown good results,” said Gaikindo Chairman General Putu Juli Ardika in Jakarta on Monday. He noted that Indonesian-made vehicles are now exported to various countries, demonstrating the national automotive industry’s increasing competitiveness in the global market. Putu added that the Indonesian automotive industry also showcased its competitiveness at the INNOPROM 2026 exhibition in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Through the largest industrial exhibition in the Eurasian region, Indonesia opened opportunities for cooperation with Eurasian countries, including in the supply of automotive components. “The automotive industry ecosystem is already running well. We also offer component supply because Indonesia is one of the exporters of automotive components. This will support the automotive industry and after-sales services in Eurasian countries,” he said. He added that differences in vehicle specifications, such as steering wheel position, are not an obstacle for the national automotive industry in expanding its export markets.
