GAC to Bring 7-Seater MPV to Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President of GAC International Wei Haigang stated that his company will bring quality vehicles to the Indonesian market, including MPVs, given that Indonesia is currently undergoing a transition towards more environmentally friendly vehicles. “And Indonesia is currently in a rapid transition towards new energy vehicles,” Haigang said in Beijing on Friday (24/4) evening local time. He also mentioned that they will accelerate the entry of multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) into the Indonesian market. “We will also prepare a seven-seater MPV to enter the Indonesian market more quickly,” he said. GAC also sees other potential in the fleet market segment or vehicles to support business activities such as online taxis. “And not only for retail, but for fleets, like we have already entered Grab, we will also collaborate to penetrate that market,” he said. On the same occasion, CEO of GAC Indonesia Andy Ciu stated that his company will introduce a premium MPV, namely the GAC E9, which is powered by petrol and battery, or plug-in hybrid (PHEV), competing in the 7-seater segment. “We will start with what you already know, the first spill is the E9,” he said. According to him, the arrival of the E9, which has advanced technology, is just around the corner.
