GAC Starts 2026 with Positive Growth in Overseas Markets, AION V Sets New Sales Record
Entering 2026, GAC recorded an impressive early performance: in January this year, wholesale sales to dealers in overseas markets increased by 69% from the previous year. This achievement continues the positive growth trend over the past two years and provides a solid foundation for the 2026 overseas sales target of 300,000 units. Among its models, the AION V set a record for the highest monthly retail sales since its initial launch in overseas markets.
From a regional market perspective, GAC continues to show strong performance in global markets: in the Asia-Pacific, GAC consistently ranks among the top three Chinese brands based on sales volume in the Cambodian market; in Europe, GAC’s retail sales in Greece surged 233% from the previous month in January, alongside increasing brand profile in that market. In the Middle East, the GAC GS8 ranks third among Chinese brands in the large SUV segment in Kuwait, demonstrating product competitiveness in that segment. In the Americas, GAC became the top-selling Chinese brand in the Dutch Caribbean region in Panama; meanwhile, in Colombia, GAC remains in the top three for overall electric vehicle sales, with growing regional influence.
This positive sales growth is supported by the continuous launch of high-quality products, as well as increasingly solid system capabilities. From a product portfolio perspective, the GAC S7 and AION i60, which were first launched in China in 2025, will soon debut in international markets, accelerating product expansion. These two models, which received positive responses in the domestic market, are expected to become the main drivers of growth for GAC’s global portfolio.
From a system development perspective, the “Thousand-Network Plan” continues to progress, with the addition of 20 new overseas networks in January, bringing the total global GAC network to 650 outlets covering 86 countries and regions across five major areas: Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Europe, CIS, and Central and South America, providing strong network support for future sales growth. Five overseas production facilities have been completed and begun operations, while the AION UT project has achieved significant progress after successfully producing the first prototype at Magna’s factory in Austria. Local production projects in Cambodia, Brazil, and Egypt are also underway.
