GAC Indonesia concluded its participation at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2026 (IIMS 2026) with impressive results. Over the course of the exhibition, the Chinese automaker recorded 2,095 Vehicle Booking Orders (SPK), reflecting strong public interest in the electric vehicles and modern SUVs on offer.

The standout model was the Aion UT. The electric hatchback contributed 997 booking orders, with the Premium variant proving the most popular choice among consumers. Its compact design, contemporary features and competitive battery efficiency were key selling points. Beyond strong sales, the Aion UT also received the Best Medium Hatchback EV award at the IIMS 2026 ceremony.

Significant contributions also came from the Aion V, which recorded 552 units, particularly the V Luxury trim. Meanwhile, the Hyptec HT bolstered overall sales performance whilst also claiming the Best EV Long Range award. The Aion Y Plus also attracted growing interest from the young family segment seeking a modern-styled electric MPV.

GAC Indonesia CEO Andry Ciu expressed appreciation for the positive market response. He noted that the Aion UT’s dominance and strong interest in the Hyptec HT signalled that Indonesian consumers are increasingly open to cutting-edge electric vehicle technology.

“We appreciate all the consumers who have given an extraordinary response during IIMS 2026. The dominance of the Aion UT and the strong interest in the Hyptec HT demonstrate that the Indonesian market is increasingly mature and ready to embrace electric vehicles with advanced technology,” he said.

In terms of specifications, the Aion UT is equipped with a 60 kWh battery offering a range of up to 500 kilometres (NEDC). During the exhibition, the model was offered at a promotional price starting from Rp 280 million (on-the-road Jakarta).

The Hyptec HT, meanwhile, is positioned as a premium electric SUV with an 83 kWh battery and a range of up to 620 kilometres (NEDC). Featuring AdiGO technology and modern safety features, the model was marketed from Rp 616 million (on-the-road Jakarta) during IIMS.

GAC’s participation at IIMS 2026 extended beyond chasing sales figures. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the national electric vehicle ecosystem, from expanding its dealer network and improving after-sales services to promoting broader EV adoption. The tally of more than two thousand booking orders represents an important foundation for GAC Indonesia as it seeks to strengthen its foothold in the country’s increasingly competitive automotive market.
