BEIJING, KOMPAS.com - GAC Indonesia has confirmed it will launch a new MPV for the domestic market, namely the GAC E9. With the arrival of this model, GAC Indonesia will enter the premium MPV segment, which is currently occupied by several major names, such as the Toyota Alphard and Denza D9. The E9 PHEV adopts a premium vehicle concept with a luxurious design, spacious cabin, and futuristic ambience. Technically, this car is equipped with a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) system that combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. The total power produced reaches 373 hp with a maximum torque of 630 Nm. In pure electric mode, the car is claimed to be capable of covering a distance of up to 136 kilometres. In terms of dimensions, the E9 PHEV has a length of 5,212 mm, width of 1,893 mm, height of 1,823 mm, and wheelbase of 3,070 mm. These dimensions are larger than the Toyota Alphard, which has a length of 5,010 mm, width of 1,850 mm, height of 1,945 mm, and wheelbase of 3,000 mm. However, its dimensions are still below those of the Denza D9, which has a length of 5,250 mm, width of 1,960 mm, height of 1,920 mm, and wheelbase of 3,110 mm.
