JAKARTA – Futures broker ratings serve as a crucial indicator for assessing credibility, business health, and service quality within the derivatives trading industry.

Amid growing public interest in high-risk investment instruments, the rating system helps investors distinguish between brokers with strong governance and those potentially posing risks.

Beyond reflecting financial performance, ratings also relate to regulatory compliance, transaction transparency, and a firm’s ability to safeguard client funds.

Higher ratings correlate with increased market confidence in the safety and professionalism of services offered.

However, regulatory oversight remains paramount given the high volatility of futures trading, which makes the sector vulnerable to speculation and misuse without strict monitoring.

The Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) under the Ministry of Trade has released its periodic ratings for all futures brokers for Q1 2026 (January-March).

Seven companies received top ratings: PT Valbury Asia Futures, PT Finex Bisnis Solusi Futures, PT Argodana Futures, PT Dupoin Futures Indonesia, PT Century Investment Futures, PT CGS International Futures Indonesia (formerly PT CGS-CIMB Futures Indonesia), and PT Gensesis Gemilang Futures.

“Improved quality and performance of futures brokers are expected to boost public confidence and a sense of security in commodity futures trading,” said Bappebti Chief Tirta Karma Senjaya in a statement on Sunday (24 May).

Tirta added that the ratings are part of routine quarterly evaluations designed to motivate brokers to enhance service quality and corporate performance.

The assessment was conducted based on oversight from the Commodity Futures Trading Supervision and Enforcement Bureau (PBK), Warehouse Receipt System (SRG), and Commodity Auction Market (PLK).

Meanwhile, PBK, SRG, and PLK Bureau Chief Matheus Hendro Purnomo explained that the Q1 2026 periodic ratings assessed 67 active futures brokers.

The evaluation mechanism has been refined to be more adaptive, objective, and comprehensive in measuring compliance, business operation quality, and futures broker governance.

“This update aligns with evolving business activities, industry dynamics, and strengthens risk-based supervision to foster a healthy, orderly, transparent, and integrity-driven sector,” said Hendro.

The three key indicators in the periodic rating are futures broker performance metrics, penalty points, and bonus points.
