Fusong develops ginseng industry to achieve high-quality development

In autumn, the harvesting and trading activities of local ginseng have commenced in the Fusong region, located in the hinterland of the Changbai Mountains, Jilin Province, in north-eastern China. As the largest centre for ginseng cultivation, processing, and trade in China, the Fusong area is also known as the ‘hometown of ginseng’.

In recent years, Jilin has made the development of the ginseng industry one of its primary focuses for high-quality development. In 2025, the comprehensive production value of the ginseng industry in the province exceeded 100 billion yuan. This figure represents a 30.5 per cent increase compared to the previous year, marking the highest growth rate recorded in the last ten years.
