Fuso Supplies 20,600 Canter Units to Merah Putih Village Cooperatives
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso commercial vehicles in Indonesia, has confirmed its readiness to supply thousands of truck units for a national strategic project. This step follows Fuso’s involvement in procuring units for the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives. This major project has temporarily affected the production rhythm and distribution of vehicles to general consumers. “Regarding the quantity, as reported in the news some time ago by Agrinas, the number is approximately the same, namely 20,600 units until December 2026,” said Aji to reporters, when met at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (Giicomvec) 2026, on Wednesday (8/4/2026). Aji added that for the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives project required by Agrinas, the type needed is the Canter. Given the massive volume, KTB has made strategic adjustments to ensure market demand remains maintained. As a result of this priority, some retail consumers have had to be patient due to longer waiting times or backlogs than usual. However, Aji emphasised that the situation is temporary. “Initially, some consumers had to wait because we have a commitment to focus on fulfilling the major project. But gradually, we are starting to return to normal production to supply the project we have committed to and also meet the needs of the general market, both retail and fleet customers,” he said. The good news for entrepreneurs and loyal consumers of the Yellow Head is that production capacity is now beginning to stabilise. Aji said the target is to return to normal from this April, meaning no more consumers have to backlog for long.
