Fuso Market Forecast for 2026: Modest Growth Thanks to Logistics Sector
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso commercial vehicles in Indonesia, is adopting a realistic outlook for the commercial vehicle market throughout 2026.
Although it set a fairly positive target at the end of last year, the current developments in the global economy and geopolitics require industry players to be more vigilant.
“At that time, we predicted that the situation in 2026 for the commercial vehicle market would be roughly similar to 2025,” said Aji at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Commercial Vehicle Expo (Giicomvec) 2026 in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
This optimism is not without foundation.
“Although there are indeed some business sectors that still have potential for purchases, such as logistics, manufacturing, and infrastructure, we assume we are slightly optimistic, roughly the same, but there will certainly be growth compared to 2025,” Aji stated.
A fresh wind for the commercial vehicle market also comes from large-scale national strategic projects.
Aji added that with the Merah Putih Village Cooperative project requiring a large number of commercial vehicles, it will certainly impact the overall commercial vehicle market.
However, amid this growth potential, challenges arise from external factors beyond the control of the domestic industry.
This situation has prompted KTB to switch to caution mode.
Additionally, according to Aji, geopolitical issues, such as the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, cannot be discounted.
Such issues could affect business activities in Indonesia.
“If business activities are impacted, it will certainly also affect the needs or demand for commercial vehicles. So, initially we were optimistic about several business sectors that still contribute to commercial vehicle purchases in 2026,” Aji said.
KTB’s current focus is to maintain a balance between mitigating the swelling production costs and fulfilling the remaining market needs.
“So, our assumption is slightly better than 2025, plus there is the government project mentioned earlier. But we still have to be careful with the recent situations, such as rising fuel prices, rising raw material costs, and so on,” Aji said.
