Furniture expo planned

JAKARTA (JP): PT Ad-House Primacipta, in cooperation with
Asmindo Jakarta, will conduct an international furniture fair at
the Jakarta Convention Center in November.

Soedirman, president of Ad-House, said over the weekend that
about 100 companies will exhibit their products in the event,
which will be attended by approximately 1,000 foreign buyers.

Rudy Lengkong, chairman of the National Agency for Export
Development, has encouraged businessmen to take part in the
exhibition, to promote Indonesia's non-oil exports.

"We face tough competition from countries like China, Thailand
and Vietnam in attracting foreign capital. Because of this our
ability to finance our export-oriented products is becoming more
and more challenged," Lengkong said. (rid)
