Funeral training for students
JAKARTA (JP): At least 125 senior high school students ended yesterday a "rare" three-day in-house training program on cemetery matters at Jakarta's Funeral Agency, an official said.
Head of the agency's service subdivision, Kurarasih, said selected students took a range of courses stipulated in city regulation No. 2/1992.
The program included teachings on how to renovate public cemeteries, how to move them from one site to another, and how to pay plot rental fees, he said.
"The students were also taken to several old and new cemeteries, such those at Karet Bivak and Pondok Kelapa," Kurarasih was quoted by Antara as saying Wednesday.
He said 1,685 students had taken part in the annual short course since it began in 1989.
He gave no other details about the agency's aim in holding the "rare" training program. (bsr)
