Functional Palembang-Banyuasin Toll Road Ready for 2026 Eid Holiday Exodus
The South Sumatran Police have stated that the functional Palembang-Banyuasin toll road is ready for use by returning travellers during the 2026 Eid holiday exodus period.
South Sumatran Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho said that based on inspections of the toll section from the Kramasan gate to Pangkalan Balai, the road is now suitable to serve as an alternative route for travellers during the holiday migration period.
“This inspection is part of our preparedness measures in facing the 2026 Eid holiday exodus through Operation Ketupat 2026,” he stated in a written statement on Tuesday (10 March).
“We want to ensure that all routes used by the public are in safe, proper, and usable condition,” he added.
He explained that although still in a functional status, the infrastructure and quality of the toll road have met usability standards. Additionally, supporting facilities such as rest areas are available for travellers.
Beyond this toll section, Sandi said inspections were also conducted on other toll sections including Talang Kelapa, Musi Landas, Musi V Bridge, and Kayu Agung, which serve as the main toll routes in South Sumatra.
He added that through these inspections, all relevant stakeholders are expected to prepare anticipatory measures comprehensively so that Operation Ketupat 2026 can run smoothly.
Sandi emphasised that synergy between the National Police (Polri), the military (TNI), local government, and related agencies would be the key factor in supporting traffic flow and providing the best service to the public.
“We hope that the implementation of holiday exodus security operations this year can run optimally, so that the public can travel safely, smoothly, and comfortably,” he said.
