Full-Time PPPK Teachers Welcome CPNS Selection Opportunity, Request No Age Limit
Teachers with Full-Time Government Employee with Work Agreement (PPPK) status have welcomed the government’s policy stating that they will have the opportunity to participate in the 2027 civil servant (CPNS) selection. However, they hope that the selection process will not include an age limit for them.
This was conveyed by a Full-Time PPPK teacher in Cirebon Regency, Warkina. She stated that most Full-Time PPPK teachers are already over 40 years old, given that they have previously served for more than a decade or even decades as honorary teachers.
“If there is an age limit, it will be difficult, because all Full-Time PPPK teachers are above 40 years old,” said Warkina on Sunday (23/8/2026).
Warkina hopes that, rather than imposing an age limit, the CPNS selection for Full-Time PPPK teachers should only consider their performance. She is confident that Full-Time PPPK teachers have good performance records.
Warkina acknowledged that many Full-Time PPPK teachers hope to become civil servants (PNS) because of the monthly pension benefits they would receive. This is seen as a form of security for their old age.
“In terms of ability, performance, and allowances, it is the same as PNS. The only difference is the pension,” she said.
As is known, the government’s decision was announced by Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi. In addition to the opportunity for Full-Time PPPK teachers to participate in the 2027 CPNS selection, teachers with Part-Time PPPK status will be appointed as Full-Time PPPK.
The government also stated that it will transfer the employment status of PPPK teachers to central government employees. This policy is the result of an agreement reached in a meeting between government officials and the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) to reduce the fiscal burden on regional governments.
