Full Tank Fill-Up for Fortuner Diesel Using BP Solar Costs Around Rp 2.3 Million

JAKARTA - The reduction in the price of BP Ultimate Diesel starting 8 May 2026 is also affecting the operational costs of diesel SUVs, including users of the Toyota Fortuner VRZ and Toyota Fortuner GR Sport, which are quite popular in Indonesia. Currently, BP Ultimate Diesel is marketed at Rp 29,890 per litre, or down Rp 1,000 from the previous level of Rp 30,890 per litre. This price adjustment makes the cost of fuelling diesel vehicles slightly lighter. The amount is lower compared to before, which could approach Rp 2.5 million for a single full fill-up. This price drop is certainly good news for diesel SUV users with high mobility. Besides BP Ultimate Diesel, owners of the Toyota Fortuner 2.4 G Diesel, Toyota Fortuner VRZ, or Toyota Fortuner 2.8 GR Sport also still have options for other non-subsidised diesel fuels at lower prices, such as Pertamina Dex and Dexlite. If using Pertamina Dex, which is currently sold at Rp 27,900 per litre, the full tank fill-up cost for the Fortuner is around Rp 2,232,000. Meanwhile, with Dexlite at Rp 26,000 per litre, the full tank cost becomes around Rp 2,080,000. The use of high-quality diesel fuel is considered important to maintain the performance of modern diesel engines, especially vehicles that already feature common rail and turbo diesel technology like the Toyota Fortuner diesel. Besides being more sensitive to fuel quality, modern diesel engines also require low sulphur content so that the injection system and combustion remain optimal. Therefore, some diesel SUV users still choose non-subsidised fuels with higher specifications to maintain engine durability, even though the fuel costs are relatively more expensive.
