Full Statement! MPR RI's Apology Regarding the Quiz Competition in West Kalimantan
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) has issued a clarification and apology regarding the controversy over the Final Quiz Competition (LCC) on the Four Pillars of the MPR RI 2026 at the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) provincial level.
The MPR’s clarification and apology was posted on the Instagram account @mprgoid on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
“The MPR RI, through the MPR RI General Secretariat, extends its apologies for the negligence of the Judging Panel that caused the controversy related to the implementation of the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition (LCC) in West Kalimantan Province,” read the MPR’s apology on Tuesday.
Regarding the widespread media coverage on social media about the 2026 Four Pillars LCC in West Kalimantan, the organising committee from the MPR RI General Secretariat has deactivated the Judging Panel and the host for this LCC event.
“The MPR RI will conduct a thorough evaluation of the technical aspects of the competition, including the scoring mechanism, participant answer verification system, and management of objections in the competition, to ensure that future implementations are even better, transparent, and accountable,” stated the MPR.

Public input will serve as important material for evaluation to maintain the quality of activities and public trust in the inclusive, educational, and integrity-driven process of national learning.
The event was participated in by nine senior high schools in West Kalimantan. The three schools that advanced to the final round were SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, and SMAN 1 Sanggau.
