Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar completed his gratification report regarding a private jet facility received from businessman and politician Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO) to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (23/2).

The private jet in question was used for the inauguration of the Balai Sarkiah Building in Takalar Regency on Sunday, 15 February 2026.

“We conveyed everything as it was regarding the private jet and consulted on many matters. I regularly consult. For anything doubtful, I ask the KPK,” said Nasaruddin at the Anti-Corruption Education Centre in South Jakarta on Monday (23/2).

He added that the report represented his good faith in declaring something that could potentially be considered gratification. He said he wished to set a positive example for his subordinates at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

“Alhamdulillah, it has gone smoothly and that is my resolve. I want to be an example to our subordinates, our staff at every level beneath us,” said Nasaruddin.

“And then for other state officials, hopefully this can serve as a lesson for our colleagues,” he continued.

The following is Nasaruddin’s full statement after reporting the private jet facility as gratification:

“This is one of several times I have come to the KPK. The first time, I also handed over a gift from someone that I suspected might be related to the Hajj pilgrimage at that time, which I submitted to the KPK.

Several more times I have also frequently consulted the KPK on whether something falls into a particular category, and this time I came again to convey matters related to my recent trip to carry out duties in South Sulawesi, in Makassar, using the special aircraft.

Because at 11 pm there were no more flights available and I had to return the next morning for preparations for the isbat session.

So I came here to the KPK to convey this matter. Alhamdulillah, it has gone smoothly and that is my resolve. I want to be an example to our subordinates, our staff at every level beneath us. And then perhaps for other state officials as well, hopefully this can serve as a lesson for our colleagues.

Let us try to support all the ideas that have been promoted, especially by the KPK. Let us be good state officials. Report anything that may be syubhat [matters of ambiguous legal standing] for us, report everything as it is. So we should not worry — if there are consequences, we must be prepared to take responsibility. Hopefully this is a good example for anyone who serves as a state official.”

Meanwhile, KPK Director of Gratification and Public Services Arif Waluyo stated that Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar is exempt from criminal sanctions of life imprisonment or a minimum of four years and maximum of 20 years’ imprisonment, as well as fines of at least Rp200 million and up to Rp1 billion as stipulated in Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Act, because he reported the receipt of the private jet facility within the 30 working-day deadline.

“He reported before the 30 working-day deadline. In accordance with Article 12C of the Corruption Eradication Act, it is stated that if it is within 30 working days, Article 12B does not apply,” said Arif at the Anti-Corruption Education Centre in South Jakarta on Monday (23/2).

Arif explained that within a maximum of 30 working days, his office would determine whether the gratification may be retained by the recipient or belongs to the state.

“Later, if we issue a decree, for example to provide compensation or replacement funds, we will convey through the decree that ‘this must be replaced by a certain amount.’ He must comply with that,” he explained.
