On June 17, my family and I went to visit my parents and
relatives in my hometown. As we had a child with us, we chose a
fairly good bus, a Karina. I booked the tickets at the Cirebon
terminal a day before our departure.

The ticket seller told me to be at the terminal at 4:30 p.m.,
when the Jakarta-Madura bound Karina bus was expected to arrive
at the Cirebon terminal. We arrived at the Cirebon terminal on
time. But our bus had not yet showed up. We were advised to take
another bus, but we insisted that we wait. At long last, to my
great disappointment, Karina arrived at 7 p.m.

But it was not the end of our disappointment. The "super
delux" Karina (fully air-conditioned with music, video, karaoke,
reclining seat and toilet) was far from cosy, but it was full of
smoke. Never mind, I have been a Karina client for a long time.

On our journey back to Indramayu, we took Karina again, hoping
that their service would improve. But things did not change, and
in fact it was worse than the previous journey. Despite the "No
Smoking" sign, cigarette smoke was everywhere which made
breathing difficult. I wonder what makes the executive bus
different from the regular economy bus?
