Our hearts and prayers are with all the victims and the families left behind. Regarding my statement following the train incident in East Bekasi, I realise that the statement was inappropriate. For that reason, I apologise profusely to all of society, especially to the victims and the victims’ families who felt hurt or uncomfortable by the statement. We all agree that the safety of the entire community is the number one priority, for both women and men. At present, the government’s top priority is to ensure the best handling for all victims, both those who have passed away and those who have sustained injuries. In accordance with the President’s instructions, the entire handling process is carried out quickly, fairly, and comprehensively. The Ministry of PPPA is present to ensure that the rights of the victims and the children left behind by their parents in this tragedy are not neglected. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life in this incident.
