Fugitive Taufik Hidayat's Hideouts Before Arrest for Assaulting Girlfriend Revealed

Taufik Hidayat (30), the suspect in a case of sadistic assault and confinement of his girlfriend with the initials YTR (29) in Bandung, has been arrested. Police have revealed the fugitive’s hideouts before his capture this evening.

Taufik was arrested in the Majalaya area, West Java. Police stated that Taufik had been moving around Greater Bandung and Karawang before finally being apprehended. While on the run, the perpetrator never left the West Java region.

“No (he did not leave West Java). He only left Greater Bandung, going to Karawang,” said West Java Regional Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, when contacted on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Taufik is currently undergoing a health examination following his arrest. Police have scheduled a press conference on the case for Wednesday (24/6) tomorrow.

“Tomorrow afternoon at Riung Mumpulung at 12.30 WIB at the West Java Regional Police,” Hendra explained.

Footage of the moment Taufik was arrested has also circulated. He appeared silent and tight-lipped during a brief interrogation by officers in a police car.

“Alhamdulillah, we have secured the person under what name?” an officer asked in the video recording.

“Taufik Hidayat, Sir,” the perpetrator replied in a low tone.

Taufik, wearing a jacket, could only give short answers to the officer’s questions. He could only respond briefly when questioned by the officer.

“Ready, Sir,” he said repeatedly when confirmed about his identity and his readiness to undergo examination.

During the dialogue, police confirmed that the situation on the ground was under control. Police also explained Taufik’s attitude, noting he offered no resistance when ambushed by the team. Taufik appeared resigned and cooperative before the officers.
