Fugitive Taufik Hidayat Still Active on Dating App Before Arrest, Profile Bio Sparks Outrage
Taufik Hidayat, the suspect in the alleged kidnapping and severe abuse of a woman identified as YTR, was reportedly still using a dating application before his arrest by police on Tuesday. The revelation emerged after screenshots circulated showing an account believed to belong to the perpetrator matching with a woman in the Cileunyi area. The account, using the alias ‘Yuda’, was located approximately 4 kilometres from the Abdinegara housing complex. The social media user who shared the information noted that the suspect appeared to be freely using the OMI dating app and that the profile had passed facial verification. The profile bio read: ‘Trying to build exercise habits, Looking for a life partner, Cat owner’. Police acknowledged they had previously tracked the suspect’s whereabouts but that he had managed to escape capture on several occasions. Taufik Hidayat became a fugitive after allegedly holding YTR captive, torturing her, and seizing her assets over a period of years. The victim was repeatedly moved between locations by the suspect before being discovered in critical condition. The case came to light when the owner of the last rented property took YTR to hospital, where medical examination revealed severe injuries, loss of eyesight, a serious head infection, and slash wounds to her legs. Reports have since emerged suggesting that other women, including the suspect’s former wife, may have suffered similar abuse.
