A fugitive robber who evaded arrest for 11 years in East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU Timur) has finally been captured upon returning to his residence.

The suspect, identified as PA and now aged 40, was arrested at his home without resistance. He had been a wanted person for a theft and assault case at Desa Mujo Rahayu, Kecamatan Semendawai Suku III in East OKU Regency since 2015.

According to Semendawai Suku III Police Sector Chief Iptu Anthoni Steven, officers received information from local residents that the suspect had returned home from outside the area. Police immediately mobilised to apprehend him.

“The suspect is a wanted person in a robbery case that occurred in 2015. We received information from the community that the suspect was at his residence,” Steven said on Saturday (14 March 2026).

“Officers immediately apprehended the suspect at his residence without any resistance,” he added.

The Original 2015 Robbery

PA was one of four robbers who targeted the home of 67-year-old Sumarsono in 2015. The perpetrators forced entry by prying open the rear door with a screwdriver. Upon encountering the victim, they bound him using curtain fabric from inside the home. The robbers successfully stole 2 million rupiah from his trouser pocket.

Of the four perpetrators involved in the burglary, three identified as S, K, and L were apprehended earlier and have served their sentences. PA managed to escape and evaded capture for over a decade.

“Throughout this period, the suspect lived in constant movement to evade police pursuit. However, through community information and coordinated fieldwork, we have successfully secured the suspect,” Steven concluded.
