The High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) of DIY has successfully apprehended a convicted felon in an adultery case who had been a fugitive for almost 10 years. The convict, Frangki Mokoginta, was arrested in Palagan, Sleman. Kasi Penerangan Hukum (Penkum) Kejati DIY, Langgeng Prabowo, stated that Frangki was a convict in a general crime case of adultery whose legal status had been final and binding since 2016. However, after the verdict was final, Frangki never complied with the prosecutor’s summons to serve his sentence. “This success is a collaboration between the DIY High Prosecutor’s Office and the Yogyakarta City District Prosecutor’s Office in securing a wanted person for a general crime case, an adultery case, who has been on the wanted list since 2016,” Langgeng said when contacted on Thursday (6/8/2026). Langgeng explained that Frangki was convicted based on Yogyakarta High Court Decision Number 12/Pid/2016/PT YYK dated 2 March 2016. In that ruling, the panel of judges declared Frangki legally and convincingly guilty of committing adultery and sentenced him to three months in prison. According to Langgeng, during the trial process, Frangki was not detained because the article he was charged with did not allow for detention. However, after the verdict was final and binding, Frangki fled. “Because during the trial process, the article the defendant was charged with did not allow for detention, so he was not detained previously. Then after the three-month sentence, he immediately ran away,” he explained. Langgeng revealed that Frangki had been moving from place to place to avoid detection. It was only on Monday (3/8) that the team received information that the individual was in the Jogja area. “All this time he was mobile, moving around. Then the latest position was around Palagan. It was indicated on Monday. So, last Monday it was indicated that he was tracked down in Jogja. All this time they have been constantly moving around,” he disclosed. Langgeng stated that the arrest was then carried out on Wednesday (5/8) at around 11.00 WIB at a house in Palagan, Sleman. When secured, Frangki did not resist. “He was arrested at his house around Palagan. He was arrested at 11, and was immediately brought here,” he said. Langgeng explained that the case involving Frangki began when he had a relationship with a woman who was still legally the wife of another man. The two lived together in a boarding house in the Muja Muju area, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta City, from November 2014 and engaged in sexual relations on several occasions. The act was eventually discovered by the woman’s legal husband, who came to their boarding room in May 2015 and reported Frangki to the authorities. The Yogyakarta District Court sentenced him to three months in prison, a ruling that was upheld by the Yogyakarta High Court after both parties appealed.
