A man with the initials S (32), who was a fugitive in the case of burning his own niece, identified as T (15), has been arrested by police. S was apprehended in Jepara.

“Yes, we have secured him, the suspect with the initials S (32). This suspect is the victim’s uncle,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit for Women and Children and Certain Crimes at the Semarang Metropolitan Police, Kompol Ni Made Sriniti, in a written statement, Sunday (20/6/2026).

The perpetrator was arrested on Sunday (14/6) at around 02.00 WIB in Jobokuto, Jepara Regency. At the time of arrest, the perpetrator was in a fishing village area and did not resist.

“The arrest was made after a series of investigations lasting nearly two months. The police then received information that the perpetrator had fled to the Jepara area,” she explained.

Sriniti explained that the incident began when the perpetrator told the victim to take a shower. However, the victim refused and defied the order. The perpetrator then set the victim on fire.

“This made the suspect angry and annoyed, so the suspect told the victim he would fetch petrol and pour it on her,” she clarified.
