Pacitan, VIVA – The flight of Brigadier SA has finally come to an end. The member of Pacitan Police Resort, who was previously a fugitive after allegedly being involved in a fraud case using the modus operandi of promising to free detainees, has now been secured and is undergoing detention at Propam.

Brigadier SA previously entered the list of wanted persons (DPO) after being reported for absconding with tens of millions of rupiah belonging to the family of a detainee at the Pacitan Police Resort headquarters.

The Head of Public Relations Section of Pacitan Police Resort, Aiptu Thomas Alim Suheny, stated that after being on the run for approximately one month, Brigadier SA has now been successfully arrested.

“After being designated as a DPO, Brigadier SA has now been captured and is a Propam detainee. He will soon be examined,” he said, quoted on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pacitan Police Resort, Ajun Komisaris Polisi Choirul Maskanan, added that the handling of the case is still ongoing. His side is now delving into the alleged criminal acts as well as disciplinary violations committed by Brigadier SA.

“If there is sufficient evidence, it will automatically be elevated to the investigation level,” said Choirul.

According to Choirul, ethical and disciplinary matters are handled by Propam, while suspected general criminal acts are handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of Pacitan Police Resort. Examinations of witnesses and Brigadier SA himself are still ongoing.

The case began when the family of a detainee reported to the police after allegedly becoming victims of fraud by Brigadier SA. At that time, the member of the Sat Tahti Unit of Pacitan Police Resort was said to have lured them with the promise of freeing the reporter’s family member who was being detained at Pacitan Police Resort.

To carry out his scheme, Brigadier SA requested money totalling Rp30 million from the victim. The request was fulfilled in stages.

“LPM on 16 April, the victim has been examined by us. The money was handed over twice. First, SA asked for 20 million, and a few days later asked for another Rp10 million. So total 30 million,” said Choirul.

However, after the money was given, the promise to free the detainee was never realised, until finally the victim’s family reported to the police.

Not only that, Brigadier SA is also suspected of being involved in another case. He is said to have absconded with one unit of a Honda Vario motorcycle belonging to his colleague, who is also a police member. In addition, Brigadier SA is suspected of being involved in the theft of a motorcycle in the parking area of a karaoke cafe in the Tamperan area, Pacitan.
