REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUBANG – A tanker truck carrying raw fuel overturned on the Cipali toll road at KM 95 in the direction of Cirebon on Wednesday (25/2/2026) at 05:13 WIB. As a result, two lanes of the road in the vicinity were temporarily closed.

Corporate Communications & Sustainability Management Dept Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, said that the incident was allegedly caused by the driver’s lack of anticipation due to drowsiness while driving. “This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in it hitting the guardrail and ending up blocking the road between lane one, the outer shoulder, and the ROW (right of way) area,” said Ardam.

Patrol officers, tow trucks, and paramedics from Astra Tol Cipali immediately went to the scene after receiving information from road users. Officers arrived at the location at 05:21 WIB to carry out handling and provide first aid to one victim with minor injuries.

Ardam said that at 13:00 WIB, the vehicle had been successfully evacuated to the outer shoulder. As of 16:30 WIB, the process of transferring the cargo to another vehicle was still ongoing.

During this process, Ardam continued, they carried out strict security procedures by temporarily closing lane 1, lane 2, and the shoulder of the road from KM 94+800 to KM 95+000 in the direction of Cirebon. Road users were still able to use lane 3.

“We apologize for the inconvenience experienced by road users during the handling process. Furthermore, further investigation into this accident is being handled by the Law Enforcement Unit of the Subang Regency Police,” said Ardam.

Ardam stated that they always urge all road users to ensure they are in good physical condition before driving. If they feel tired or sleepy, they should immediately rest at rest areas or outside the nearest toll gate for the safety of all.
