Fuel Shortage in Labuan Bajo, Pertamina Says Supplies Are En Route
Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Jawa Timur, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus) has acknowledged the fuel shortage in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) over the past few days. Area Manager for Communication, Relations & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, Ahad Rahedi, stated that fuel supplies for Labuan Bajo are currently in the process of being delivered.
“Fuel supplies to local petrol stations are actually in the process of being shipped,” Ahad said in his statement on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
He mentioned that the company received information from the public regarding the fuel shortage in Labuan Bajo on Monday (4/5/2026). This included long queues at Labuan Bajo petrol stations, as well as complaints about the difficulty in obtaining Pertamax, Pertalite, and Biosolar fuels.
As a mitigation step, Ahad explained that Pertamina Patra Niaga is accelerating distribution by prioritising petrol stations experiencing high consumption spikes.
“We hope that with this step, conditions at the petrol stations will soon improve and queues will return to normal,” Ahad said.
He added that the fuel tanker ship supplying the Reo Fuel Terminal had docked today. The ship is carrying 400 kilolitres (kl) of Pertamax, 250 kl of Pertalite, and 500 kl of Biosolar.
“With this additional supply, the fuel needs of the community in the Manggarai Barat region and surrounding areas are ensured to be met safely,” Ahad stated.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga also urges the public to purchase fuel wisely according to their needs,” he added.
In an effort to support smooth fuel distribution in the Manggarai region, Ahad said, Pertamina Patra Niaga is actively coordinating and intensively monitoring fuel availability at petrol stations. This step is part of the company’s quick response to optimise fuel supplies, especially in areas with high demand levels.
It was previously reported that a fuel shortage occurred in Labuan Bajo over the past few days. Some people had to wait up to two days to get fuel.
