Fuel Prices Unchanged, Pertamina Urges Public Not to Panic Buy
Pertamina, through Pertamina Patra Niaga, has emphasised its commitment to ensuring energy availability for the public by adhering to government policy directives that maintain fuel (BBM) prices unchanged for both non-subsidised and subsidised variants. As a downstream energy business entity, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Roberth M.V. Dumatubun, stated that Pertamina Patra Niaga is continuously implementing various strategic measures to guarantee optimal energy distribution across all regions. “These efforts are carried out through strengthened coordination and negotiations with suppliers, as well as the optimisation of distribution systems to keep supplies safe and available for the public,” Roberth said in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). He added that Pertamina Patra Niaga will continue to make maximum efforts in addressing existing dynamics, prioritising service reliability and the continuity of national energy distribution. Roberth conveyed that Pertamina Patra Niaga consistently implements government policies, including on fuel pricing. On the other hand, various strategic efforts such as negotiations with suppliers and distribution optimisation are also being undertaken to ensure energy availability remains maintained for the public. “We also urge the public to use energy wisely according to their needs and not to be influenced by information that could trigger panic buying,” Roberth stated. Roberth said that efficient and responsible energy use is one of the keys to maintaining national energy resilience. Pertamina Patra Niaga also invites the public to join Pertamina in implementing government policies on energy conservation through both personal and institutional activities. “The public is also expected not to be easily swayed by unverified information that could potentially incite panic or panic buying,” Roberth remarked. Roberth stated that active public participation in maintaining reasonable consumption will greatly assist the smooth distribution of energy in the field. Through synergy between the government, security apparatus, and the public, he hopes that national energy availability can continue to be optimally maintained to support public activities and economic growth in Indonesia.
