Fuel Prices Rise by Rp 6,300–Rp 9,400, Residents Regret Not Filling Up Fully

JAKARTA - The increase in non-subsidised fuel prices has triggered spontaneous reactions from users. Some admit to being shocked by the substantial price surge. Ihsan (28), one of the users affected, regrets not filling his tank fully before the new prices took effect. According to him, this price rise directly impacts monthly expenditure, which has increased significantly. Nevertheless, Ihsan has no plans to switch to another type of fuel and continues to use Pertamax Turbo. He also mentioned fuel quality as the primary consideration. “Honestly, Pertamax still feels off since that previous case. Moreover, in my view, its combustion is dirtier compared to Turbo,” he said. Meanwhile, another user, Yusuf (33), stated that the price increase could raise his monthly fuel spending from previous levels. He was also quite surprised by the hike, despite understanding the risks of fluctuations from the start when using Pertamax Turbo. Even with added expenses, Yusuf sticks with it, considering the vehicle’s efficiency and performance. “For now, I’m still using Turbo. Because if you calculate it, Turbo is actually more economical in consumption. Back then, I thought the difference with Pertamax was slight, so I might as well go for the better one,” he said. In detail, the price of Pertamax Turbo has risen sharply to Rp 19,400 per litre, up Rp 6,300 from the previous Rp 13,100 per litre. A higher increase occurred for Dexlite, now sold at Rp 23,600 per litre, jumping Rp 9,400 from the prior Rp 14,200 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of Pertamax remains unchanged at Rp 12,300 per litre. The same applies to Pertamax Green 95, still priced at Rp 12,900 per litre.
