The government has decided that Pertamina’s fuel prices will not increase as of 1 April 2026. The public and all parties are reminded to continue saving energy, even though the national fuel stock is deemed sufficient.

PAN Faction Chair in the DPR, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, views the decision to hold prices as important for maintaining purchasing power amid global economic pressures. “This policy is crucial for safeguarding the public’s purchasing power and economic stability,” said Putri on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Putri stressed that price stability must not lead to wasteful energy consumption. Energy-saving campaigns remain critical, especially amid geopolitical dynamics affecting global energy supplies.

“PAN encourages a movement for energy saving and wise use among all its cadres as a concrete step to maintain national energy resilience,” she stated.

She also emphasised the importance of accelerating the energy transition as part of a long-term strategy towards national energy independence.

“The PAN Faction is ready to oversee energy policies that not only maintain current stability but also strengthen national energy independence in the future,” said Putri.

Additionally, Putri urged Pertamina to ensure smooth and targeted fuel distribution. Field supervision must be tightened to prevent diversion practices.

“We demand stricter distribution oversight and no room for diversion or hoarding of fuel. This must be firmly addressed to avoid harming the public,” said Putri.

The PAN Faction also encourages the Oil and Gas Downstream Regulatory Body to strengthen oversight of distribution governance to ensure transparency and accountability.
