Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad has asked the public not to hoard fuel oil (BBM). This is because the government has assured that prices for subsidised and non-subsidised BBM will not rise on 1 April 2026.

“Starting tomorrow, the same prices will still apply. Therefore, the public does not need to panic, does not need to queue up, and especially should not hoard BBM,” said Dasco during a press conference at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

This Gerindra Party politician explained that the DPR is monitoring queues forming at petrol stations (SPBU).

He urged the public not to create queues to buy petrol, as the prices are confirmed not to increase.

Previously, the Palace stated that Pertamina will not yet adjust prices for subsidised or non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM).

This was affirmed by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi following coordination between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Pertamina based on instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.

“That is why Pertamina has stated that it will not yet adjust prices for either subsidised BBM or non-subsidised BBM,” said Prasetyo in his statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

The Palace also asked the public not to panic because domestic BBM availability remains secure.

“We hope that with this statement, the public can obtain clearer and more accurate information, and we hope the public does not need to panic or worry because we guarantee BBM availability. We guarantee it,” said Prasetyo.
