Fuel Prices Across ASEAN Fall in Unison, Which is the Cheapest?

Several countries in the Southeast Asian region have uniformly lowered their fuel prices. This follows the recent decline in global crude oil prices.

In Malaysia, for instance, the average price for petrol has reached US0.825perlitreorRp14, 802perlitre(atanexchangerateofRp17, 942/US). Meanwhile, diesel prices have reached US$0.972 per litre or Rp17,440 per litre.

These figures represent a decrease from the previous period, which recorded US$0.916 or Rp16,435 per litre for petrol, while diesel reached US$1.150 or Rp20,634 per litre.

Following the trend of its Southeast Asian neighbours, Indonesia has also made adjustments by lowering the prices of non-subsidised fuel through PT Pertamina (Persero).

Quoting the official Pertamina Patra Niaga website, for petrol station prices in Jakarta, Pertamax Turbo has now dropped to Rp19,300 per litre, a decrease of Rp1,450 per litre from the previous price of Rp20,750 per litre in June 2026.

The price for Pertamax DEX is now set at Rp21,150 per litre, down by Rp3,650 per litre from its previous price of Rp24,800 per litre. Dexlite has also decreased to Rp19,700 per litre, a drop of Rp3,300 per litre from the previous Rp23,000 per litre.

Meanwhile, the prices for Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green (RON 95) remain at Rp16,250 and Rp17,000 per litre, respectively. The price of Pertamax at Pertashop remains at Rp16,150 per litre.

As for subsidised fuels, Pertalite (RON 90) remains at Rp10,000 per litre and subsidised Solar is at Rp6,800 per litre.

Average petrol prices in the Philippines reached US$1.186 per litre or Rp21,280 per litre. Diesel reached US$1.123 per litre or Rp20,149 per litre.

4. Thailand

Average petrol prices in Thailand reached US$1.443 per litre or Rp25,891 per litre. Diesel reached US$1.129 per litre or Rp20,257 per litre.

5. Laos

Average petrol prices in Laos reached US$1.736 per litre or Rp31,148 per litre. Diesel reached US$2.112 per litre or Rp37,895 per litre.

6. Cambodia
