Fuel Prices Across ASEAN Fall in Unison, Which is the Cheapest?

A number of countries in Southeast Asia have simultaneously lowered their fuel prices, following a recent decline in global crude oil prices. In Malaysia, the average price of petrol has reached US$0.825 per litre, or approximately Rp14,802, while diesel is priced at US$0.972 per litre, or around Rp17,440. This marks a decrease from the previous period, when petrol averaged US$0.916 per litre and diesel US$1.150 per litre. Indonesia has also made adjustments, with state-owned enterprise PT Pertamina (Persero) reducing the price of non-subsidised fuels. At Jakarta filling stations, Pertamax Turbo has been lowered by Rp1,450 to Rp19,300 per litre, Pertamax DEX has dropped by Rp3,650 to Rp21,150 per litre, and Dexlite has fallen by Rp3,300 to Rp19,700 per litre. Meanwhile, Pertamax (RON 92) and Pertamax Green (RON 95) remain unchanged at Rp16,250 and Rp17,000 per litre respectively, and subsidised fuels Pertalite and Solar are steady at Rp10,000 and Rp6,800 per litre. A comparison of fuel prices across ASEAN as of 1 July 2026 shows Malaysia as the cheapest for petrol at US$0.825 per litre, followed by Myanmar at US$1.182, the Philippines at US$1.186, Cambodia at US$1.317, Thailand at US$1.443, Laos at US$1.736, and Singapore as the most expensive at US$2.353 per litre.
