JAKARTA – The increase in non-subsidised fuel prices is once again affecting vehicle operating costs. One notable example is Pertamax Turbo, which has experienced a significant price surge. The price of Pertamax Turbo has risen from Rp 13,100 per litre to Rp 19,400 per litre, marking an increase of Rp 6,300. This situation has driven up fuel filling costs for vehicles, including turbo-engined models like the Daihatsu Rocky. Although positioned as a compact SUV, the Daihatsu Rocky is equipped with a 1KR-VET engine with a 1,000 cc three-cylinder turbo capacity. This engine delivers power of 97.8 PS or equivalent to 96.4 hp at 6,000 rpm and torque of 15.2 kgm or 147 Nm in the range of 2,400 to 4,000 rpm. Consequently, there is a cost difference of Rp 226,800 for a full fill-up. This surge is quite noticeable, particularly for users who depend on the vehicle for daily mobility.
