The price of non-subsidised fuel such as Pertamax has increased. The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara is urging the public to start considering a switch to electric vehicles. Head of the NTB Transportation Agency, Ervan Anwar, stated that sooner or later this fuel price surge will hit the transport sector, including the mobility of NTB residents using private vehicles and public transport. “All transport will definitely be affected because it will incur extra costs,” Ervan said on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Ervan said the NTB Provincial Government could not do much as the fuel price increase is under the purview of the central government. He mentioned that geopolitical conditions in the Middle East are one trigger for the skyrocketing global crude oil prices. “We leave that matter to the central government,” he added. According to Ervan, residents can look to electric vehicles as a long-term solution to avoid being continuously burdened by fluctuations in fossil fuel prices. He considers electric vehicles to be more stable and efficient. “We hope that eventually people can switch to electric, like electric cars,” Ervan concluded. For information, the price adjustment made by PT Pertamina Patra Niaga applies simultaneously at all petrol stations across Indonesia. Pertamax (RON 92) rose from Rp 12,300 to Rp 16,250 per litre, while Pertamax Green 95 (RON 95) rose from Rp 12,900 to Rp 17,000 per litre.
