Fuel Price Hike Issue Leads to Increased Interest in Polytron G3
JAKARTA – Several weeks ago, reports of potential rises in fuel prices emerged alongside the escalation of conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran. This situation has sparked public concerns about a possible surge in energy costs, including domestic fuel. Consequently, there has been a noticeable uptick in public curiosity towards electric vehicles, including the Polytron G3 electric car. “There’s just, well, many options now. So the increase is more towards people asking questions, seeking more information,” said Tekno in Jakarta recently. According to Tekno, this indicates that the public is beginning to consider more energy-efficient vehicle alternatives, though still in the exploratory phase. Tekno added that, despite facing various challenges including intensifying competition, Polytron remains optimistic about the prospects of the electric vehicle market in Indonesia. For context, data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) shows that Polytron’s wholesale distribution throughout 2025 reached 455 units. Although a newcomer in the automotive industry, Polytron adopts a realistic and adaptive approach in developing its electric vehicle business. Looking at last year’s performance, despite only starting to market its products in the second half of 2025, Polytron managed to enter the national top 25 sales list.
