JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) has assured that fuel efficiency measures for petroleum (BBM) within the TNI will not disrupt strategic operations or national defence readiness.

The efficiency steps involve regulating the use of official vehicles, operations of main weapon system equipment (alutsista), and the potential adjustment of workdays to four days per week for certain functions.

“The measures prepared include regulating resource use more effectively and based on priorities,” said Rico in his statement on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

He explained that the use of alutsista would be adjusted according to the operational priority index. Meanwhile, the use of official vehicles and employee transport would be limited while still maintaining task implementation effectiveness.

“This efficiency is a manifestation of readiness and discipline in managing strategic resources, not due to an emergency situation,” he stated.

The government has also emphasised that the national energy reserves are currently in a safe condition.

The efficiency policy aligns with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto, who emphasised the importance of proactive steps to maintain economic stability and national resilience without disrupting public services or state readiness.
