Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (Jatimbalinus) projects fuel consumption to rise 11.9 per cent during the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday break.

Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Jatimbalinus Ahad Rahedi stated that the anticipated peak mobility will unfold across four phases, comprising two peak periods of homebound travel and two peak return journeys. Homebound traffic is expected during 14-15 March 2026 and 18-19 March 2026, whilst return traffic is forecast for 24-25 March 2026 and 28-29 March 2026.

During this heightened mobility period, Pertamina projects increased demand for fuel and liquefied petroleum gas, particularly petrol and LPG.

“Fuel consumption during this period is estimated to increase 11.9 per cent from the normal daily average of 18,430 kilolitres for petrol. Kerosene is projected to rise 7.3 per cent from the normal daily level of 375 kilolitres, whilst LPG is forecast to increase 3.5 per cent from the normal daily level of 6,567 metric tonnes,” Rahedi stated on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Meanwhile, diesel consumption is expected to decline 9.8 per cent from normal consumption of 8,805 kilolitres daily, as industrial activity decreases during the extended holiday. Aviation fuel consumption at Jatimbalinus airports is also predicted to fall 6.1 per cent from the normal daily average of 3,316 kilolitres.

“Consumption declines because there are no commercial flights during Nyepi Day at Ngurah Rai Airport and flight cancellations on Middle Eastern routes,” Rahedi explained.

Pertamina is also optimising infrastructure across East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, operating 1,482 petrol stations, 900 Pertashop convenience outlets, and 1,296 LPG agents.

The company has deployed 644 petrol stations operating round-the-clock and 1,040 standby LPG agents. Nine additional fuel service points and Pertamina standby kiosks are operational, along with 36 mobile motorist/mobile distribution units reaching residential areas and tourist routes.

Pertamina has also prepared 17 standby tanker trucks as supply reserves along congested travel routes. Additionally, three Serambi MyPertamina facilities operate at rest areas and busy commercial centres, providing additional facilities including rest rooms, nurseries, barbershops, medical clinics, and children’s play areas.

“We urge the public to refuel early before entering congested routes,” Rahedi concluded.
