FTSE Russell Removes Four Indonesian Stocks from Index Effective 22 June
Global index provider FTSE Russell has removed four Indonesian stocks from the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (GEIS). The decision was made as several issuers were found to have overly concentrated shareholdings, failing to meet the minimum free float requirement, and being placed under special surveillance.
The decision was outlined in the June 2026 Quarterly Review announcement released on Saturday, 23 May 2026. The changes will be implemented during the rebalancing on 19 June 2026 and take effect from 22 June 2026.
FTSE Russell has removed PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) from the large-cap list. FTSE determined that the majority of DSSA’s shares are held by a small group of shareholders, falling under the high shareholding concentration (HSC) category. The announcement states: ‘Failed High Shareholding Concentration’.
Besides DSSA, FTSE Russell also removed PT Daaz Bara Lestari Tbk (DAAZ) from the small-cap list.
The nickel and coal trading company was found to have failed to meet the minimum public free float requirement. The announcement states: ‘Failed Minimum Free Float Requirement’.
The other two companies removed are PT Hillcon Tbk (HILL) and PT Mulia Industrindo Tbk (MLIA).
HILL is a parent company and contractor in the nickel and coal mining sector. MLIA is a manufacturer, trader, and distributor of industrial glass products.
FTSE Russell removed HILL and MLIA because both companies were placed under special surveillance by the Indonesian stock exchange authority. They are suspected of engaging in abnormal trading activities. The announcement states: ‘Failed Surveillance stocks screen’.
