Subsidised fuel purchases across Bali will be regulated using an odd-even system from Saturday (17 October 2026) until Monday (19 October) to speed up refuelling and ease queues at petrol stations (SPBU).

Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus Regional Office, said the policy was set out in a letter from the Governor of Bali, Number B.21.500.1/16673/V/DISNAKER.ESDM, which Pertamina had received.

“Fuel purchases using odd and even vehicle registration numbers will be regulated from Saturday, 17 October 2026, until Monday, 19 October 2026,” Ahad said during an interview at the Sanggaran Integrated Terminal in Denpasar on Friday (16 October 2026).

Ahad explained that purchases of subsidised fuel, particularly Pertalite, would depend on the last digit of a vehicle’s registration plate and the date. Vehicles with odd-numbered plates may refuel on 17 October, while those with even-numbered plates may do so on 18 October.

“So, on 17 October, vehicles with odd-numbered plates [may refuel], followed on 18 October by vehicles with even-numbered plates throughout Bali Province,” he said.

Pertamina will coordinate with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) to help manage vehicles refuelling at petrol stations and ensure compliance with the odd-even rules.

Alongside the odd-even system, Pertamina has added 16 tanker trucks in Bali to speed up fuel distribution from terminals to petrol stations requiring supplies.

“To speed up fuel distribution, several measures are also being taken with support from various partners, including the addition of 16 tanker trucks in Bali Province to accelerate deliveries from terminals to petrol stations that need supplies,” he concluded.
