PT Taspen has handed over compensation to the family of Nurlaela, one of the victims who died in the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station. It is known that Nurlaela, who was a civil servant (ASN) teacher at SDN Pulogebang 11 in East Jakarta, passed away while riding the KRL home from work to her residence in Bekasi Regency.

PT Taspen’s Corporate Secretary, Henra, expressed condolences over Nurlaela’s death in the accident that occurred on Monday night (27/4/2026). According to him, the late Nurlaela was a teacher with high dedication during her duties.

“We extend our deepest condolences over the passing of Mrs Nurlaela. Her dedication as an educator is a great service to the nation,” he said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday (29/4/2026).

As a state-owned enterprise operating in old-age savings insurance and pension funds for ASN, Henra stated that Taspen acted swiftly to process the late’s entitlements. In this way, they could immediately disburse the compensation to the victim’s family.

“Through a quick and transparent process, we ensure that all of the late’s entitlements are delivered to the family to help maintain their livelihood and the education of her child,” he said.

It is known that PT Taspen provided benefits under Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Old-Age Savings (THT) totalling Rp 283,227,000 to the heirs of the late. The total compensation consists of JKK benefits of Rp 227,076,400, which includes death compensation, condolence payment for death, funeral costs, and child education scholarship assistance, as well as THT benefits of Rp 56,150,600.

The provision of these benefits represents the comprehensive protection provided by the state through Taspen in guaranteeing the welfare of ASN and their families when facing work risks.

The compensation was handed over by Jakarta’s Deputy Governor Rano Karno to the late’s husband, Heris Rusman. The handover was also witnessed directly by PT Taspen’s President Director Rony Hanityo Aprianto.

Representing the Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov), Rano also expressed condolences over the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station. Moreover, there was an ASN teacher from SDN Pulogebang 11 who also became a victim. Not only that, the train accident also resulted in the death of one Jumantik cadre in Central Jakarta, Nurhayati.

“Well, the DKI Jakarta Government today is handing over work accident insurance compensation and death insurance as a form of responsibility and concern for the family left behind. Although we realise that this assistance cannot replace the great loss, we hope it can somewhat alleviate the burden on the family left behind,” said Rano.
