From Sumatra to Papua, Indonesia's Natural Wealth Featured at FLONA 2026

A diverse range of Indonesia’s flora and fauna has arrived in the heart of the capital through the 2026 Flora and Fauna Exhibition (FLONA) at Lapangan Banteng Park, Jakarta, on Monday (31/8/2026). Carrying the theme “Akar Nusantara Bertumbuh di Jakarta” (The Roots of the Archipelago Growing in Jakarta), this environmental festival brings together natural wealth, community creativity, and local wisdom within a single green open space.

Running until 28 September 2026, FLONA 2026 features around 200 MSME stalls specialising in premium flora and fauna, alongside various activities including flora and fauna markets, culinary offerings, installations, exhibitions, and bazaars. This year, visitors are invited to explore the characteristics and natural riches of six Indonesian ecoregion zones, spanning from Sumatra to Papua.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is organising this environmental festival to introduce Indonesia’s biodiversity richness while simultaneously increasing environmental awareness. The event also serves as part of Jakarta’s journey towards its five-century milestone, as the city is directed to continue developing as a green, sustainable, and global city, while remaining rooted in the natural and cultural wealth of the Archipelago.
