From SPPG to Families, Mendukbangga Ensures MBG 3B is on Target
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister for Population and Family Development (Mendukbangga)/Head of BKKBN, Wihaji, has assured that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and non-PAU toddlers (3B) will reach its targets accurately, from Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) right through to families.
Minister Wihaji stressed that MBG 3B is a highly sensitive intervention as it pertains to the early stages of human life. Therefore, from SPPG services to beneficiaries, everything must be ensured to run accurately, safely, and without deviations.
“This programme for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers is very sensitive because it directly relates to the health of future generations. That is why we check its certainty, from SPPG to the beneficiaries,” he stated in an official release in Jakarta on Saturday.
During field inspections, Mendukbangga also observed the conditions of families in the stunting risk category (KRS) who still face challenges related to housing and sanitation, thus requiring ongoing interventions through nutritional services and family support.
“The role of the Family Companion Team (TPK) in implementing MBG 3B is very important in supporting service distribution, providing family guidance, education, and direct monitoring of the conditions of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers at the village level,” he added.
These efforts are part of the national target to reduce stunting to 18.8% by 2026 and 14% by 2029. The government is strengthening interventions from the pregnancy period and expanding the implementation of SPPG and MBG 3B nationwide to produce healthy and productive generations.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro, stated that by 31 March 2026, Pemalang Regency will have 137 SPPG units, 84 of which serve MBG 3B. The programme reaches 3,762 pregnant women, 10,920 breastfeeding mothers, and 26,974 non-PAU toddlers as priority target groups.
