Surabaya (ANTARA) - The transition of government operational vehicles from oil-fuelled to electric vehicles is one of the strategic steps in the agenda for energy efficiency and emission reduction at the local level.

This policy reflects the city government’s concrete efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, while also curbing operational budget burdens and environmental impacts from bureaucratic activities.

In Surabaya City, East Java, the direction of this policy is implemented through the target of replacing all official vehicles with electric vehicles.

Under the leadership of Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi, this step does not stand alone, but is integrated with other policies such as energy saving, work pattern adjustments, and encouragement for civil servants (ASN) to use public transportation.
