Jogja Financial Festival (JFF) 2026 was enlivened by a series of Educational Classes, one of which was led by Stock Enthusiast Michael Yeoh and Digital & Marketing Communication Head Caroline Setiabudi of Bank Mega. The session discussed how to profit from shares.

The event, under the theme ‘If You Have Rp10-100 Million Today, Where Should It Go?’, was held on the second floor of the Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Kapanewon Banguntapan, Bantul, on Friday 22 May 2026.

Hundreds of chairs, initially empty, began to fill with participants from various age groups. They listened with enthusiasm to Michael and Caroline as Michael shared tips on how to start investing in stocks.

Next, Caroline continued the presentation, outlining Bank Mega products that participants could utilise.

During the event, the host invited five participants to answer questions. Several participants jostled to step forward. Five participants were eventually chosen; each answered questions posed by the host about Bank Mega’s products.

The Q&A session was lively, with answers varying, some correct and some wrong. Those who answered correctly received prizes from Bank Mega.

In addition, the host opened a further Q&A session for two questioners. Even with a limit of two, many hands went up, and the host selected two people to ask.

The first questioner was Dian, a woman in her thirties, who asked Michael several questions about investing in stocks; Michael’s responses were deemed satisfactory.

Next, a man who said he was a fan of Michael asked the market commentator for wise strategies to face the current market. Michael answered slowly and in detail, outlining several takeaways about the market.

Not satisfied with only two questioners, the host opened space for two more. Again, many participants wished to ask questions, and two more were chosen.

The two participants directed their questions to Caroline and were answered to everyone’s satisfaction. The session closed with a final question directed at Michael.

One Educational Class participant, Prasada Agra Swatiayana (23), said he had travelled all the way from Semarang to attend the financial class to learn about stocks. ‘I’m from Semarang. Why did I join Jogja Financial? Firstly, I want to learn about stocks,’ Agra said after the event.

Agra has been exploring the capital market for five years. He wished to ask Michael about the market and was glad to have the opportunity. ‘I’ve been in the stock market field for five years, so I wanted to ask Michael Yeoh,’ he explained.

The young man, who has studied the capital market since high school, said he had gained much from the class and regarded the financial session as especially valuable for Gen Z. ‘First, there are the latest, up-to-date insights into the IHSG and the economy,’ he noted. ‘There are also other classes such as crypto, which are very helpful for young people who like to explore new knowledge; you can learn about investments, crypto exists, stocks exist,’ he concluded.
