JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Paris, France, on Monday evening (13/4/2026) to continue his state visit.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Prabowo flew directly to Paris after completing his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

“After holding a meeting that lasted five hours with President Putin at the Kremlin Palace, the President immediately departed for France with a flight time of around 3.5 hours and arrived at midnight in Paris,” Teddy said in a statement from the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

“Tomorrow, the President will hold a one-on-one meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace to discuss enhancing the strategic cooperation between the two countries,” Teddy added.

Teddy noted that the meeting would not only focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation but would also serve as an important opportunity for Indonesia to convey its strategic views on global dynamics.

“In the meeting, the President will not only strengthen cooperation with the French Government but also express Indonesia’s position in maintaining stability and promoting world peace,” he said.

Prabowo mentioned that Russia plays a very positive role in facing the uncertain geopolitical conditions, so he felt the need to meet Putin.

“We feel it is very necessary to consult on how we face the situation ahead. And especially, if possible, we continue to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy and energy,” he stated.
