From Post to Post, PNM Distributes Aid for NTT Earthquake Victims
The earthquake that occurred on Saturday (15/8) also affected 47 PNM work units in the Flores region, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). As of the monitoring process, 792 PNM employees have been confirmed safe.
In response, PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero), through PNM Peduli, continues to coordinate with PNM’s regional network to gain a picture of the condition of affected communities, customers, and PNM personnel. PNM is also visiting evacuation points to distribute aid according to needs on the ground.
To accelerate post-earthquake handling, PNM has activated its RESPATI team to conduct rapid assessments in several areas. On Sunday (16/8), the team began moving with initial supplies of instant food and medicines.
From field mapping, community needs extend beyond food. Vulnerable groups in evacuation shelters also require baby formula and nappies, sanitary pads, and hygiene supplies. PNM has adjusted its aid to better match these needs.
On Monday (17/8), 147 aid packages worth Rp144 million were dispatched, reaching 1,347 beneficiaries across eight evacuation points and affected areas.
“In a disaster situation, community needs can change rapidly. Therefore, PNM Peduli does not only focus on sending aid, but first assesses the conditions and needs on the ground. We hope the assistance provided truly benefits the affected communities and PNM personnel,” said Made Dwantara Wijaya, Head of PNM Denpasar Branch, in a statement on Thursday (20/8/2026).
On Tuesday (18/8), the RESPATI team and the PNM Denpasar Branch team distributed aid to the Alok Timur area. The aid consisted of basic foodstuffs and personal hygiene and health supplies worth Rp15 million.
On Wednesday (19/8), the PNM Denpasar Branch team, together with the RESPATI team and PNM Peduli, again reached three evacuation points in Sambi Rampas and surrounding areas, namely Golosita Post, Wangkung Post, and Sambi Rampas District Post.
At least 1,101 displaced people received aid including mineral water, rice, instant noodles, eggs, sardines, bread, cooking oil, and milk. At Golosita Post, 158 evacuees, the majority of whom are PNM Mekaar customers, also received assistance.
The team’s journey did not stop at evacuation posts. PNM Peduli also supported the needs of public kitchens in the Reok area and its surroundings by purchasing supplies such as rice, eggs, instant noodles, mineral water, bread, cooking oil, and other food items.
PNM also continues to monitor the condition of employees and customers in affected areas. For PNM Mekaar customers, the impact of the disaster can also mean the halt of business activities and reduced family income. Therefore, their condition and needs will continue to be part of PNM’s monitoring during the recovery process.
“We want to ensure that when communities are in difficult situations, PNM does not only come bringing aid, but also remains with them until conditions gradually recover. After emergency needs are met, we will continue to assess follow-up needs, including how customers can resume their activities and businesses,” explained PNM President Director, Kindaris.
Through PNM Peduli, PNM will continue to follow developments on the ground and reach areas requiring support. From one post to another, aid is delivered based on the real needs of the community.
