From Plastic and Textile Waste, This Is the Eco Jersey for Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026
Pertamina Eco RunFest continues to strengthen its initiative as a sustainable event. Environmentally friendly principles form the foundation and spirit of the Eco RunFest 2026 series of activities. Partnering with local sports apparel brand Manta Liberta, Eco RunFest 2026 is presenting an eco-friendly jersey.
VP Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, said the use of eco-friendly jerseys is Pertamina’s commitment to delivering an event that is environmentally friendly with optimal waste management aspects.
“The use of eco-friendly jerseys is one of Pertamina’s commitments to ensure that the implementation of Eco RunFest 2026 truly prioritises environmental aspects,” said Baron.
Baron explained that by involving around 14,000 Eco Run runners and 10,000 visitors to the Energizing Music Festival, this activity provides a broad space to encourage the public to move together in protecting the environment. This spirit is in line with the main message of Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026, which invites the public not only to run, but also to move together to protect the earth through various habits and concrete actions.
“From a jersey, we can see how materials that were previously waste can have a new life. This is a tangible form of how sustainability principles can be applied in an activity that involves the wider community,” he said.
Co-Founder of Manta Liberta, Aldy Nur Prastya, said Manta Liberta and Pertamina are committed to conducting research and developing jersey materials dedicated specifically for Pertamina Eco RunFest 2026 with materials certified to global recycled standards.
This collaboration is also an opportunity to show that materials previously considered waste still have the potential to be processed into products of useful value. The production of this eco jersey is projected to absorb up to 210,000 plastic bottle waste items, equivalent to 2.5 tonnes of plastic bottle waste.
“Besides the recycled material aspect, performance features are also a priority. The recycled material of this jersey also has anti-bacterial, anti-odour and moisture-wicking specifications,” explained Aldy.
According to him, the development of products based on recycled materials requires the involvement of various parties, from material collection, processing, to design and production. “Cross-sector collaboration is important to expand the utilisation of materials that still have useful value,” he said.
