From Narasi to USS Feed: Clarifications on Partnership Issues with the Government
Several media entities have provided clarifications regarding claims of their involvement as government partners in the Indonesia New Media Forum (INMF). These clarifications stem from statements by the Indonesian Public Communication Agency (Bakom) RI, which mentioned embracing the New Media Forum as a partner in the digital media ecosystem to expand public communication in Indonesia.
Some of these media outlets include Narasi News owned by Najwa Shihab, Bapak2id, Volix, Proud Project, Pandemic Talks, USS Feed, Indomusikgram, and GNFI. Below are the statements from several of these independent media outlets.
- Narasi News
In a statement posted on Narasi’s official Instagram account on Thursday, 7 May 2026, Narasi stated that it has not joined the Indonesia New Media Forum (INMF). The editorial team stated that it was unaware, uninvolved, and did not attend any meetings or press conferences related to INMF or the Public Communication Agency on 6 May 2026.
“Narasi is an official media outlet registered and verified by the Press Council with certificate number 472/DP-Verifikasi/K/XI/2019. Narasi operates in accordance with the Journalistic Code of Ethics as stated on the official Press Council website,” reads the official statement from the media outlet.
- Bapak2id
In their official statement posted on the Bapak2id Instagram account, they also denied joining INMF. They also did not attend the meeting related to INMF on Wednesday.
“Our good-hearted citizens… There’s a lot of news in Tempo about Bakom inviting media joined in the Indonesia New Media Forum (INMF) and our name suddenly appears there. NO, WE DIDN’T JOIN! And we’re not part of anything. We were shocked to hear this news. We are completely uninvolved, didn’t attend, and don’t understand it at all,” reads their official statement.
- Volix Media
Volix Media also denied joining INMF, as has been widely discussed since Thursday morning.
“The Volix team wishes to state that Volix HAS NEVER attended meetings, press conferences, or any events organised by the Public Communication Agency (Bakom RI). Volix is NOT an official partner as a government-supporting media, and HAS NEVER communicated directly with Bakom RI regarding this matter. Volix will continue to uphold its commitment as an independent company,” reads their official statement.
